Designing the IKONIX FS1 Handlebar

When I decided to bring a new BMX handlebar to market, my goal wasn’t to add another look-alike product to an already crowded field. I wanted to create something meaningful—something shaped by decades of riding and design experience.

At first glance, the IKONIX FS bar may resemble others on the market. But on closer inspection, every detail is intentional, guided by three core objectives: delivering a modern performance experience, honoring legacy-driven bends and style, and finishing it with uncompromising beauty.

The bar is constructed from 100% 4130 chromoly tubing, selected for its strength and reliability. A narrower profile at the stem improves knee clearance for bar spins and other technical tricks, while maintaining exceptional durability. The bends and overall profile are the result of designing dozens of handlebars over four decades—refined through experience, not trends.

To complete the bar, we placed a strong emphasis on finish. The chrome version is polished five separate times, producing exceptional depth, brightness, and visual clarity. It’s a finish meant to be admired as much as it is ridden.
